An embarrassing condition caused by bacteria and other pathogens that grow in the mouth. Gum, mints, mouthwashes and other products designed to fight bad breath are only temporary cures and may actually compound the problem by feeding the bacteria. Essential oils are particularly helpful in overcoming the root causes of bad breath and thus helping to prevent serious diseases throughout the body that begin in the mouth.

Recommended oils: Tea tree, Tangerine, Cinnamon, Thyme, Peppermint, and Clove.

Instruction:

  • Brush twice a day with a cinnamon or clove tooth powder mixed with an extra drop of tea tree or tangerine oil.

Create your own tooth powder by mixing 2 parts baking soda to 1 part fine-ground, natural salt. Thoroughly mix in drops of peppermint or clove oil to taste. Sprinkle some in your hand, add a drop of tea tree or tangerine oil, wet your toothbrush, and enjoy brushing your teeth without the toxic chemicals.

  • Create an aromatic mouthwash using a teaspoon of baking soda, a teaspoon of salt. 10 drops of tea tree, 10 drops of peppermint, and 8 ounces of water. Shake before each use. Swish, gargle, and spit.

Create oil pulling mixture with 10 drops of peppermint or a mixture of other oils on the recommended list in a ½ cup of olive oil. Take about a tablespoon of oil. Swish and pull the oil back and forth between your teeth for about 20 minutes while you shower. Spit the mixture out. This thicker concoction really gets into the pockets where the bacteria hide in your mouth.
