Our lungs are one of the most important organs of our body, but most people don’t realize how quickly the lungs can be polluted with toxins particularly from our diet our lifestyle or the air that we breathe. What goes into your lungs eventually make its way into the bloodstream. So it is important to be mindful of keeping your lungs free of toxins to stay healthy. Every tissue, organ, and gland must have oxygen. And if your lungs are not getting enough oxygen, then our cells suffer.

So I’d like to share with you these healing medicinal herbs. When they are combined together, it will help strengthen and detoxify your lungs.

Green tea contains many antioxidants, and it helps to reduce inflammation in the lungs. These compounds protect lung tissue from harmful effects of potential toxins that can harm our body. It is those catechins that are natural antioxidants that help prevent cell damage and provide many other great benefits for the body.

Lemon is high in vitamin C which boosts our immune system. Lemon has antiseptic properties which means it helps to kill bacteria in the body and prevents mucus from building up in the lungs. Its antioxidants help the body to fight off any allergen or irritant that enters the lungs. The citric acid in lemon juice improves lung function by cleansing and strengthening the lung tissue.

Ginger also contains powerful antioxidants. It has anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties. It helps break down mucus in the lungs and improves blood circulation in the body when pathogens or irritants affect the lungs. The body produces an accumulation of mucus making it hard to breathe. Ginger will help to break down this mucus making it easier for your body to expel air.

Mint has powerful healing medicinal properties for respiratory tract, its main component is menthol. It acts as a decongestant. It will shrink those swollen membranes in the nose and sinuses. It will also work as expectorant meaning it has the ability to loosen up that mucus in the lungs so your body can excrete it. Mint also has antihistamine and antioxidant properties.

Honey has antibacterial and antiviral properties. It reduces inflammation in the bronchial tubes. Those are the airways within the lungs and will also aid in breaking up mucus that is making it hard for you to breathe.

Cayenne pepper is rich in capsaicin. The medical properties of capsaicin help stimulate secretions and protect mucous membranes in the upper and lower respiratory tract. So these are the ingredients you’ll need:

1 Bag of Green Tea

1 Cup or Mug (8 - 12 ounces of water)

½ Lemon

¼ - ½ tsp Ginger powder (or 1 inch juiced )

1 Mint leaf

 Dash of cayenne pepper

Little bit of Honey ( Monk Fruit / Stevia )

Boil a cup of water and put the green tea bag in it .

Take ½ a lemon and squeeze all the juice in your cup. Take the mint leaf, tear it in half so volatile oils can seep into the tea. Aad ginger, a dash or two of cayenne, and then add your honey or alternative sweetener. The best time to drink this healing medicinal tea would be the first thing in the morning on an empty stomach about 10 to 20 minutes before you eat breakfast. You can drink this several times a day but preferably on an empty stomach. This will strengthen your immune system, detoxify your lungs, and keep your lungs healthy.
